They were giving out the standard edition at the launch - does Express offer something better (besides leaving you with more free disk space, I mean).
ReplyDeleteNo, the standard edition is definitely the more desirable product (here's a comparison chart.) But I didn't get a chance to attend the launch event, so I didn't get a free copy of standard (a $262.99 value!). Had I known they were giving out free copies, I would have made more of an effort to go.
ReplyDeleteStill the express edition will come in handy for my programming classes. The question for me is: should I uninstall my full-blown Visual Studio.NET (two versions old) for this newer but stripped-down version?
Would you do it for the standard version?
ReplyDeleteActually, I didn't have to uninstall anything. I can have both versions installed without interfering with anything.
ReplyDeleteI like the new version, but doubt I'd end up using even a fraction of the features in Standard.
